Choreography Guidelines

Are you an emerging choreographer who is looking for feedback from a supportive community to help guide you throughout the creative process?
Have you taken a break from choreographing but want to get back into it, knowing you just need some deadlines and a little structure?
Are you new to Boston and want to find a community of dancers, rehearsal space, and a concert where you can showcase your work?

Then Synchronicity Dance Co. is the place for you! Every season, SynchroniCity Dance Co. will produce a Boston-based dance dance performance. Rehearsals take place for approximately 12 weeks and choreographers will have the opportunity to receive feedback from a professional in the field.
Join us for our Season 2 performance, May 10th & 11th, 2025.

CHOREOGRAPHERS WILL RECEIVE…

  1. A one-hour weekly time slot for rehearsals

  2. A group of dancers from our pool of registrants

  3. A feedback session where you can show your work-in-progress and receive mentorship from professional choreographers

  4. Video footage of your piece from the concert

  5. Opportunities for networking at our kick-off party and events, where you can connect with other Boston area dancers and choreographers

  6. Participation as a dancer in up to 4 pieces, including your own, if desired

CHOREOGRAPHER FEE:

$150 for selected choreographers only. There is no fee to submit an application.

TO APPLY:

Fill out a brief form and attach a 30 second video of your movement ideas or a video link.

The application deadline for Season 2 has passed. Stay tuned for Season 3 applications, coming August/Sept. 2025.

Note: As this is an inclusive environment, choreographers must be willing to work with dancers of varying levels. Since choreographers also serve an educational role, they must be proficient in the style of dance they are using for their piece.
